Marina Piccolas

I finished the Marina Piccola socks some weeks ago.

Marina Piccola Socks

Not particularly happy with these as they are probably THE sloppiest socks I've ever made. I don't know what happened but my gauge for the second sock was so off that the leg is more than an inch longer than the first, the heel and foot is loose, and as a result I ran out of yarn just as I was getting to the toe.

Yuck. Bleh. I wasn't even going to post about them but then last night Duck took this shot as I was lounging on the couch watching baseball and since it contains all the ingredients for a crowd-pleaser - some new handknits, some older handknits, some handknits in progress, plus bonus! a fat cat - I thought I'd share.

Knitting while wearing handknits

Don't we all look comfy, with our animals and our yarns? I am wearing the aubergine bolero - celebrating it's 2nd birthday! - and knitting the entrelac socks. Try to disregard the fact that the soles of my socks look like the underside of a Swiffer cloth.

Crushing weight

Veebs is not usually a lap cat but lately he's been feelin' the love. Meanwhile, as he spreads out luxuriously along the length of my legs and purrs that gentle, bumblebee purr of his, my little kneecaps are slowly being turned inside out.

Those are GREAT shots!

Purr-ty socks! ;) Yes, it's back to Chaos-on-lap season, full leg/knee support required. Ahhh... the warm, purring afghan. Bliss!

well, for what it's worth - those socs look pretty darned cute. I am finishing my second Marina Piccolo, and I love the pattern. Maybe you'll give it another try??

I love those shots! And the socks are imperfectly perfect.

Well, the socks look pretty good through the computer monitor! I sort of like the goofy purple toe. And I loves the fat kitty.

Auto lap warmer! And you don't even have to put in a quarter!

I've decided that socks are meant to be somewhat mismatched. Or at least, I've tried to convince myself of such since I have yet to knit a matching pair!

:D

That Veebs is quite the cat, love his expression of quiet disdain--every cat's specialty!

I don't know who to be more jealous of . . . you? or the cat! Just Lovely.

Ahh, the view from a cat. Gotta love it. I have a couple of those knee-breakers myself. One of them drools when he's happy and making biscuits. Nothing like a claw-snagged soggy sweater while you're knitting. PS your socks are GORGEOUS.

Lovely socks and a great cats eye view!

Hahahaha, I LOVE the look Veebs's giving the camera!

I think I might celebrate the two year birthday of my Debbie Bliss bolero by ditching it next week. It looks pretty crappy on me and I've only worn it once Kind of a waste of drawer space.

The socks look pretty perfect in pictures at least. You all also look incredibly cozy.

My cat does the same thing. He'll sit at attention next to my legs until I uncross them and put them up on the footrest so he can "assume the position." I call him my hot furry lap blanket.

I once took a photo from his perspective. It wasn't pretty - double chins (me, not the cat)protuberant boobies (again - me, not the cat)
and a view straight up my nostrils (me... oh hell. you know the rest!)

Blessings!

I think they look awesome. I actually had the same problem with these - I ran out of yarn, too. I might have to copy-cat you and use a different yarn for the toes. Did you find this pattern a little boring to knit? 'Cuz I did... but maybe it's just me...

Kitties make *such* good knitting helpers. :-) Well, your second sock may have turned out a bit wonky, but I love the pattern.

I keep shaking my head in quiet recognition. This is the way of the boy-King Kitty. I have an orange tabby that thinks nothing of using me as his footstool.

Lovely! I actually really like the purple toe!

They are sooooo pretty!!!

I love the pattern and the color! Great photos, too! It is fortunate that you ran out of yarn on a cuff-down sock - no one will see the toes when they are in shoes!
