Yet another AV project

Wednesday, January 11, 2006

Dude. It's going to be hovering near 60 degrees F up here in Boston for the rest of the week. Look at me, I'm all crazy, wearing my crazy flipflops in the middle of crazy January.

GW kicks ass!!

(GW stands for Global Warming. And George W.
Coincidence? Oh I don't think so.)

I've cooked up a new project. It's the Adrienne Vitaddini cabled pullover from Fall 2004, except I'm calling it the "Cabled Toad" because it sounds that much prettier.

I'm using Filatura di Croso 501 in olive. The color is really MUCH more saturated than in the photo above. It could be tricky, it could be. I've never worn anything so toad but I'm trying to be brave. I saw a woman the other day with my coloring - dark hair - wearing this olive-colored blazer and I thought the color looked smashing on her.

The back is finished and the mid-section and ribs are delectably squishy, as they are wont to be.

Kooch continues to lay abandoned in the now ice-cold sunroom, in the same position as I left it when I took this photo. In hopes of finding inspiration in other knitters' progresses, I did an google search for Kooch. My site was the first that came up, the other sites belonged to yarn retailers.

Am I the only person in the WWW knitting Kooch?

(WWW stands for world wide web. Or whole wide world.)

Speaking of Kooch...

I wish it were me that AJ is pregrant with. If it were me in there I'd be constantly kicking her uterine wall in glee, knowing that I'm going to be like the hottest baby this world has ever witnessed. Damn it.

No! You're not the only person knitting Kooch. I just cast on last week in Rowanspun DK/4ply. So please don't give up. I've been lurking hoping that you will show some progress. I know, I know... I didn't even respond to your de-lurking request a few weeks ago so that makes me twice the lurker I am. I guess now is the time to say how much I enjoy your site and keep Kooch alive!

Kick her hard, because while you would be hot, you'd be nuts and probably not very nice to boot. You'd be rich though, so I guess it wouldn't really matter.

Well I haven't made or even started Kooch, but I did make the AV sweater, except that I turned it in to a cardy with a zipper http://saltwater_purls.typepad.com/my_weblog/2005/07/more_fohelp.html#comments I haven't worn it much because I'm trying to copy the latest trend in figures demonstrated by Angelina. Maybe we didn't start looking the same, but we seem to producing bumps in the same place now...as for kicking she would have had to have had an affair with a latino legume to end up with the mexican jumping bean I am incubating.
